This is by no means a be all, end all guide to XDCAM. My circumstances were I was tasked with building an Avid workflow for a show shot almost entirely on XDCAM. Due to cost restrictions, 1600 decks were not available, so I had to use U1 drives. We had some B-Roll being shot on 5D, but none of it was groupable to our cameras, so we didn't need that timecode necessarily.
